Family Man

John Anderson was raised in a military family with his 7 siblings by his parents Gerald and Patti Anderson. John’s father served our country in the Navy and Air Force for over 20 years while his mom added to their family’s income as a beautician and selling real estate.

In 1972, John was blessed to marry the love of his life, Pam. They have two wonderful children, Aaron and Nikki. John and Pam have always tried to lead their family by example. John and Pam are active members in the Biltmore Church, routinely volunteer for the MANNA Food Bank, and can often be found at their grandchildren’s soccer and gymnastics events. Their daughter Nikki and her husband live in Asheville with their three children. Nikki works as a teacher and is especially involved in early parent-child parenting development. 

Environmentalist

John Anderson isn’t just committed morally to protecting the environment, it’s been his life’s work. While President of the Student Chapter of American Chemical Society he received his Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University, and then his Masters of Science in Management from the University of La Verne. Right out of college, he joined Ocean Labs, which later became Stauffer Chemical Company, where he developed several patentable processes. John developed a protocol to analyze samples of pollutants for the Department of Defense, saving millions of dollars. He also established a Navy lab accredited by CA EPA. He worked with a national team that developed implementation of the EPA’s Economy, Energy & Environment Program (E3) which reduced energy consumption, minimized carbon footprints and prevented pollution. As a scientist, John will address infrastructure development from a practical environmentalist’s perspective in the NC Senate.

Business Owner and Leader

John has been a successful business owner in the private and public business sectors. As an employer, he achieved almost no employee turnover by treating his employees well, and growing his business to distribute over $5 million of product annually. As a Director of Operations at a manufacturing technology consulting firm, his team generated thousands of jobs while advancing sales from $500,0000 to $3.5 million in just three years. His teams helped save billions of dollars by implementing lean manufacturing, quality systems and software applications. As your next state senator, he will use his business and budgetary experience to ensure North Carolina spends tax dollars wisely, and is a leader in creating more jobs.
